Rochester Sports Garden
It is our Mission to:
Provide an indoor facility that encourages athletes from all over the Greater Rochester area to participate in the sports and activities they love while enjoying and promoting healthy lifestyles within their community.
Rochester Sports Garden opened in 1995 by Jeanne Stewart based on an idea that Peter Shambo had. It was to be an indoor facility for year-round play. The idea was to have a facility that the average player and advanced player could use to practice and have leagues in. RSG has hosted many youth organizations and adult groups.

RSG has three 30′ by 60′ basketball courts, four multi-use batting cages, CrossFit RSG, and two boarded fields used for soccer, lacrosse, baseball, ultimate, and other activities. Rochester Sports Garden has been host to countless athletic groups.
A little about Jeanne:
Jeanne had always been an advocate for sports and recreation. Jeanne was a physical education teacher and spent most of her career at Bloomfield Central School. In 1968 Jeanne and her husband John opened an 18-hole Arnold Palmer Putting Course in Irondequoit which was followed by a 36-hole course in Penfield in 1972. The Irondequoit course closed in 1973 and Penfield closed in 1994. When the Penfield course closed John and Jeanne needed to find something for their customers to do. Peter Shambo suggested an indoor sports facility featuring soccer. With his help, the adventure to open such a place was on. In 1993 John passed away but Jeanne pushed on with their dream of opening the Sports Garden in Nov of 1995. Jeanne passed away in 2017 after seeing her dream accomplished.
